The Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), one of India’s largest healthcare advocacy platforms, unveiled its 8th International Conference, CAHOCON 2024, scheduled to take place in Kolkata for the first time on the 6th and 7th April, 2024 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. Dr Sreedhara Panicker Somanath, distinguished Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the guiding force behind Chandrayaan 3, is set to inaugurate this pivotal event, symbolizing a landmark moment in the advancement of healthcare quality and safety.

Dr Vijay Agarwal, President of CAHO, said, “CAHO, a leading association comprising healthcare institutions, diagnostic centres, and individual professionals, remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting and enhancing quality, patient safety, and accreditation in healthcare. CAHOCON 2024, a cornerstone initiative, serves as a catalyst for continuous quality improvement and the fostering of a culture of safety within healthcare organizations.”

Dr Lallu Joseph, Secretary of CAHO, said, “Given the complexities in healthcare delivery and the alarming rate of medical errors, CAHOCON 2024’s theme, ‘Making Healthcare Effective, Economical, Efficient, and Equitable’, serves as a clarion call for healthcare institutions to prioritize patient safety and rebuild community trust.”

Mr Rupak Barua, Chairman, Organising Committee, CAHOCON 2024, said, “This annual symposium is designed to bring together all stakeholders in the healthcare industry on a unified platform, fostering discussions on the adoption and adherence to esteemed quality standards.” CAHOCON 2024 is proudly supported by prominent organizations such as The International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), The Asian Society for Quality in Healthcare (ASQua), and the Quality Council of India (QCI), he added.

Dr Shankar Sengupta, Secretary, Organising Committee, CAHOCON 2024, informed that anticipating the participation of over 1,800 delegates, the international conference has on offer a unique opportunity for engagement with national and international experts through various formats, including platform discussions, poster sessions, and video presentations.

“The conference will also recognize excellence in the field through awards in categories such as Process Excellence, Best CSSD, Young Quality Achiever, Quality Champion, and the Lifetime Achievement Award,” Dr Sengupta said, adding that notable speakers from countries such as the USA, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Dubai, Turkey, and more will share their experiences.

Complementing the conference is a Mega Industry Expo, providing delegates with an opportunity to explore new healthcare devices and products, fostering an environment conducive to collaboration and networking. Pre-conference workshops are scheduled on April 5th at leading hospitals across Kolkata, setting the stage for an enriching and educational experience.

“CAHOCON 2024 transcends the traditional conference format and represents a commitment to the future of healthcare. Join us in Kolkata to be part of a movement toward a safer, more reliable healthcare system,” Mr Barua stated. The organising committee is also expecting the West Bengal Government to join hands with CAHOCON 2024 as a partner, he said.
