In an event filled with excitement and anticipation, the jersey of the football team Credo Accelerate, participating in the upcoming XSL-Xaverian Soccer League, was unveiled today at Calcutta Sports Journalists Club by Legendary Footballer and Former Captain of the Indian Football Team, Mr. Shyam Thapa. The league, a flagship initiative of the St. Xavier’s College (Calcutta) Alumni Association in association with the Department of Sports, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) Kolkata, promises to bring together football enthusiasts and foster a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
Mr. Shyam Thapa’s presence added a touch of pride and inspiration to the new team members, symbolizing the high standards and ambitions of the Credo Accelerate team to take part in the XSL-Xaverian Soccer League.
Mr. Alvito D’Cunha, Captain of Credo Accelerate, expressed his excitement about the team’s participation in the league and the unveiling of the new jersey. “It’s a proud moment for all of us at Credo Accelerate. This jersey represents our team’s spirit, dedication, and commitment to excellence. We are looking forward to an exciting season in the XSL-Xaverian Soccer League,” he quipped.
Mr. Pinaki Roy Chowdhury, Founder Trustee of CREDO Foundation, highlighted the importance of sports in building character and fostering teamwork. “The launch of the Credo Accelerate jersey marks a significant milestone for us. The XSL-Xaverian Soccer League scheduled to take place on the 8th & 9th June, 2024 aims to provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and promote their love for football within the community.
