This event, held during Pride Month, aimed to foster an inclusive environment through a thought-provoking discussion on the interplay between art and socio-political contexts, focusing on how queering the art scene can bridge divides and promote inclusivity.

The conversation commenced at 5..30 PM at B-CAF, featuring notable artists including Koustabh Chakraborty, a non-queer artist, and Rudra Kishore Mandal, a queer artist. Koustabh explored how queer themes influence his work and the broader art community, while Rudra shared how his identity shapes his art and the challenges faced by the queer community. The session was moderated by Archee Roy, a queer visual artist and activist, who guided the conversation with insightful perspectives and deep reflections.

Reena Dewan, President of the WICCI Arts Council and Director of B-CAF, along with Paromita Ghosh, Director of Candid Communication and Vice President of the WICCI Art Life Council, addressed the media. They emphasized the importance of creating spaces where diverse voices in the art community can be heard and celebrated.

The event, which continued into the evening, brought together a diverse audience, including artists, activists and media representatives, to engage in meaningful dialogue. This gathering underscored the significant role of art in socio-political discourse and its power to challenge and transform societal norms.

The B-CAF Alochna Series once again highlighted the critical need for ongoing conversations around inclusivity and representation in the arts. The organizers expressed their gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the evening a resounding success and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the queer community within the arts.
