The Union Budget for 2024-25 has allocated a significant amount of ₹1,24,638 crore for the education sector, which is a substantial increase from previous years. This allocation underscores the government’s commitment to investing in education and recognizing its importance for national progress. The budget also mentions the allocation for specific schemes such as Samagra Shiksha (₹37,500 crore) and Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (₹1,815 crore), which aim to improve the quality of education and increase access to higher education. Additionally, the budget proposes to strengthen teaching-learning and results for states through the Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States scheme (₹1,250 crore). These initiatives demonstrate the government’s focus on enhancing the education sector and providing opportunities for students to acquire skills and knowledge that will enable them to compete in the global economy.
