Sarbani Welfare Foundation unveils in Kolkata with a grand inauguration ceremony

Sarbani Welfare Foundation marked its grand opening on June 13th, 2025 at Taj, City Centre – 2, New Town, with the objective of making a lasting impact on the lives of underprivileged individuals and communities residing in Kolkata.

The inaugural event was graced by Tapas Chatterjee, MLA, Rajarhat, Newtown, and esteemed directors of Sarbani Welfare Foundation – Dr. Arnab Bose and Vaishakhi Das along with Sudeshna Roy, Indian film Director& Actor. Sarbani Welfare Foundation has been driving impactful social change and intends to continue doing so in Kolkata with the help and assistance of its donors, volunteers, and community leaders.

Speaking on the inauguration of the Sarbani Welfare Foundation, Dr Arnab Bose shared: “Sarbani Welfare Foundation is born from the dream to make an impact on the society and uplift the underprivileged sections of our society. In Kolkata we intend to touch as many lives as possible, solving the core issues and problems of the underprivileged individuals and communities.”

Vaishakhi Das Chowdhury added: “We are very excited to start our new journey in Kolkata and are certain that we will soon reach a new milestone in healing and uplifting lives, driving impactful change in the society for the better”. She further said: “We play a crucial role in advocating for and implementing programs that protect the rights of women and children, often at the grassroots level, especially in underserved areas. We want to raise awareness, influence policy, and provide essential services like education, healthcare, legal aid, and some economic support. Especially, we want to stand beside grassroots pregnant women and new mothers. We help women reclaim their voices and participate in decision-making processes. We collaborate with government agencies, international organisations, and local communities to amplify our impact. We are desperately working to rescue children from child labour, abuse, and trafficking, and providing rehabilitation services.”

Sharing his thoughts on the grand inauguration of Sarbani Welfare Foundation, Tapas Chatterjee, MLA, Rajarhat, Newtown said: “I wish Sarbani Welfare Foundation all the best for its new journey in Kolkata and hope that it drives social change through its impactful work.”
