DURGA PUJA 2025 OFFERS AT ICONIC IHCL HOTELS UNVEILED

With Durga Puja 2025 around the corner, the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has unveiled a series of festive packages across its iconic hotels in Kolkata, offering a mix of staycations and curated dining experiences.

At the heart of Kolkata’s celebrations, Taj Bengal is bringing alive the rich heritage of Bengal through its “Puja Staycation” (September 28 to October 5). Guests can indulge in luxury stays with daily breakfast, celebratory in-room amenities, evening chai adda rituals at the Palm Lounge, and even the evocative beats of dhakis from September 28 to October 1. The package also includes INR 1,500 daily credits, 15% discounts on spa and salon services, and special concessions for children. Rates begin at INR 12,500 per night.

The hotel’s celebrated restaurants are also stepping up with festive menus. Sonargaon will host “Mahabhoj Thalis” from September 28 to October 2, offering lavish spreads of Bengali, seafood, and vegetarian delicacies such as Chingri Malai Curry, Kosha Mangsho, Potoler Korma, and Chenar Jelapi. Prices range from INR 3,450 to INR 4,150 plus taxes. Meanwhile, Cal 27, the hotel’s all-day diner, is curating Bengali-themed buffets with unlimited select beverages, priced at INR 3,399 for lunch and INR 3,999 for dinner.

In New Town, Taj City Centre Its “Urban Getaway Offer” (September 28 to October 5) includes breakfast, a major meal, early check-in and late check-out, and 20% savings on dining, spa, and laundry services. Guests will also enjoy upgrades subject to availability, with rates starting at INR 10,000 per night.

The culinary highlight here is Shamiana’s Pujo Bhuri Bhoj (September 29 to October 2). Guests can expect an extravagant spread featuring dishes such as Barrackporer Mochar Chop, Murshidabad Chicken Biryani, Sorse Bhappa Ilish, and Dhakai Nawabi Pulao. The buffet, priced at INR 2,750 per person with select beverages, will be accompanied by live music, adding to the festive atmosphere. The hotel’s Emperor Lounge is also offering specially curated celebration hampers starting at INR 1,500

Across the city, Taj Taal Kutir is offering its own “Puja Staycation” from September 28 to October 5. With rates starting at INR 14,000 per night, guests can enjoy buffet breakfasts and the charm of the property’s tranquil setting—a perfect escape from the Puja hustle while still being part of the celebrations.

For those looking for a vibrant evening experience, Vivanta Kolkata EM Bypass is rolling out a special gourmet buffet at Mynt (September 27 to October 1). The spread will showcase both Bengali and international delicacies, from live street food counters serving phuchkas and rolls to regional specialties like Haser Dimer Mouli, Mocha Chingrir Bhapa, and Ilisher Nonibhara. Desserts such as Kamolpuli and Mishti Paan Chocolate Tart promise to end meals on a sweet note. Prices range from INR 2,199 to INR 2,799 plus taxes.

Finally, at the heritage-inspired Raajkutir – IHCL SeleQtions, guests can choose between a festive staycation or immersive dining experiences. With rates starting at INR 10,000 per night, the “Puja Staycation” (September 28 to October 5) offers a blend of vintage charm and modern comforts. East India Room and Rang Durbar restaurants are presenting menus steeped in history and tradition, from Thakur Barir Vegetable Chop to Chingri Malai Curry, Kosha Murgi, and Basonti Pulao. The buffets and à la carte selections promise a journey through Bengal’s culinary landscape.

Together, these offerings highlight how IHCL hotels are not just providing luxury stays and elaborate meals, but creating experiences that echo the cultural essence of Durga Puja. Whether it’s the rhythmic beat of the dhak at Taj Bengal, the Nawabi spreads at Shamiana, or the nostalgic fare at Raajkutir, each property has crafted its own way of celebrating the spirit of the festival.
