Manipal Hospital, EM Bypass, becomes the first hospital in Eastern India to complete 1000 Total Robotic Knee Replacements in less than 2 years

In a remarkable journey of medical excellence and patient trust, Manipal Hospital, EM Bypass, under the leadership of Dr. Vikash Kapoor, Cluster Director Orthopaedics for Manipal Hospital EM Bypass and Manipal Hospital Mukundapur, successfully completed 1000 Robotic Total Knee Replacement (TKR) surgeries in less than two years, the fastest in Eastern India and one of the quickest in the country. To celebrate this landmark achievement, the hospital hosted a special celebration where patients became the stars of the evening, showcasing their renewed mobility and confidence through dance performances, ramp walks, and fitness demonstrations.
The event was also attended and blessed by Member of Parliament, Smt. Mala Roy, legendary singer Usha Uthup, celebrated danseuse Tanushree Shankar, Kantha legend Shamlu Dudheja and Mallika Verma, Ramesh Juneja Chairman and MD Juneja Group and President Indian Leather Council, industrialists such as Deepak Goel, Managing Director of Laser Power and Infra Pvt. Ltd., Director of Laser Power & Infra Private Limited. There was support of other towering presence led by Mr. Pradeep Sureka Managing Director of Sureka Group, Harshavardhan Neotia of Ambuja Neotia Group, Manyavar group represented by Ajay Modi, Debaditya Chowdhury, Founder & MD-Chowman, Oudh 1590 , Arun Poddar, Chairman, B. P. Poddar Group, and Anuj Sharma, IPS and other eminent personalities, some of them had themselves undergone robotic knee replacement at Manipal Hospital EM Bypass under Dr. Vikash Kapoor. A short fireside chat was also held to highlight the success of robotic Total Knee Replacement and raise greater awareness about advanced orthopaedic care. It was led by well-known RJ Arvind interacting with Dr. Vikash Kapoor.
Around 50 patients who underwent the surgery were present, performing activities that reflected their new lease of life. From the traditional dhunuchi dance capturing the very essence of Bangaliana to confident ramp walks and energetic fitness routines at the gym, they demonstrated how robotic surgery had restored their mobility, independence and enthusiasm for life. The message was clear that Kolkata is no more a pushover in Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement surgeries. The presence of such luminaries for their support to the cause and patients results reflected the message well.
