History was created this Mahalaya as Keya Seth Alta Sindoor “Shaktir Aradhona” made it to the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records. At the iconic Deshapriya Park Durgotsab, 672 women draped in traditional laap paar sada saree, adorned with alta and sindoor gathered to welcome Devi Paksha, filling the air with the thunderous sound of 672 Sankhas (conch shells) blown together, a feat never achieved before.
Adding to its historic aura, this year’s Mahalaya coincided with a rare tithi occurring after a hundred years, amplifying the spiritual and cultural significance of the event. Against this celestial backdrop, Keya Seth spearheaded the grand invocation, blending devotion, tradition, and empowerment into a record-breaking spectacle.
The initiative, carrying the rousing clarion call “Bajabo Sankho, Gorbo Record,” has now etched its name in record books, celebrating not just the divine feminine but also the collective strength of women that reverberates far beyond rituals.
Speaking on the occasion, Keya Seth, Founder, Keya Seth Aromatherapy, said, “This Mahalaya is more than tradition; it is a roar of feminine power. With 672 sankhas echoing in unison, we honour Shakti and script history. I believe when women unite, the world cannot look away.”
