Actor, entrepreneur and wellness advocate Ms Shilpa Shetty, along with globally acclaimed integrative lifestyle expert Mr Luke Coutinho, shared compelling insights on resilience, sustainable health and mindful living during a special session held as part of the ICC Centenary Celebrations. The dignitaries were welcomed by ICC President Mr Brij Bhushan Agarwal, and the session was moderated by ICC Vice President Mr Keshav Bhajanka.
Reflecting on her three-decade-long journey in the film industry, Ms Shetty spoke about starting her career at the age of 17 with no industry background, facing rejection despite early success, and the constant need for reinvention. “Relevance comes from continuous learning, resilience and staying authentic. After three decades, I can proudly say I did it my way,” she said.
Highlighting the importance of alignment between mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing, Ms Shetty emphasised that fitness without mindfulness cannot deliver true happiness. She encouraged women to release the pressure of perfection and instead focus on presence, balance and prioritisation.
Mr Coutinho underlined the urgency of adopting healthy lifestyles early, cautioning that lifestyle-related diseases are affecting younger generations at an alarming pace. Stressing the power of small, consistent changes, he said, “Health is not built on motivation but on mindset, discipline and the value we assign to our bodies.”
Speaking on sustainable living, both speakers advocated returning to simple, mindful practices—balanced nutrition, regular movement, stress management and conscious consumption—over extreme or trend-driven interventions.
Welcoming the speakers, ICC President Mr Brij Bhushan Agarwal said, “As ICC completes 100 years, it is fitting that we engage in conversations that look beyond economic growth and focus on the wellbeing of individuals who drive industry and society. Insights from Ms Shilpa Shetty and Mr Luke Coutinho reinforce the idea that sustainable success begins with a healthy mind and body.”
Delivering the vote of thanks, ICC Director General Dr Rajeev Singh expressed appreciation to the speakers and participants, stating, “We are grateful to Ms Shilpa Shetty and Mr Luke Coutinho for sharing their experiences and wisdom with such authenticity. This session has added immense value to ICC’s centenary discourse by reminding us that holistic wellness is integral to leadership, productivity and nation-building.”
The interactive session drew strong engagement from ICC members and young leaders, reinforcing the importance of holistic health, mindfulness and sustainability in today’s fast-paced world.
