Reinforcing its commitment to holistic education and the overall development of students, SPK Jain Futuristic Academy recently organised its 2nd Annual Sports Day, celebrating youthful energy, determination and athletic excellence. The event served as a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate teamwork and sportsmanship, while underlining the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between academics and physical well-being.

The occasion was graced by Mr. Manoj Tiwary, Minister of State for Affairs of Sports and Youth in the West Bengal Assembly and former Indian international cricketer, as the Chief Guest, who inspired students by sharing insights from his journey in professional cricket and emphasised the importance of discipline, perseverance and consistent effort in achieving long-term success. The event was further graced by the presence of distinguished Guests of Honour—Mr. Sanjay Singh, President of the Howrah Press Club; Ms. Tarunika Ghosh, Paralympic athlete; Ms. Alia Kankaria, Asia’s No. 1 squash athlete; and Ms. Anupriya Chowdhury, junior athlete—whose presence and interactions with students motivated young learners to pursue sports with confidence, determination and a positive mindset.

The Sports Day featured a wide range of track and field events, team games and age-appropriate athletic competitions, thoughtfully designed to encourage participation across all grade levels. The occasion was also marked by the presence of esteemed members of the Shree Shwetambar Sthanakvasi Jain Sabha, including Shri Sardarmal Kankaria, Mrs. Shashi Kankaria, Shri Binod Kankaria, Shri Pradeep Patwa, Kusum Patwa, Sonal Choraria and Trishala Bansaly, whose encouragement and support added to the significance of the event. Students enthusiastically took part in the events, showcasing not only their physical abilities but also qualities such as teamwork, leadership, resilience and respect for fair play. The event successfully fostered a spirit of healthy competition while promoting the values of discipline and perseverance.

Sharing her thoughts on the occasion, Dr. Jayeeta Ganguly, Principal of SPK Jain Futuristic Academy, said, “Sports play an essential role in shaping a child’s overall development. Through such events, we aim to help students build confidence, discipline and teamwork while encouraging them to lead active and balanced lives alongside their academic responsibilities.” Echoing similar sentiments, Shri Jaydeep Patwa, Secretary of SPK Jain Futuristic Academy, added, “At SPK Jain Futuristic Academy, we believe that sports are a powerful tool for learning and growth. Our focus remains on creating inclusive opportunities where every student can participate, perform to the best of their ability and develop confidence that will help them succeed in the future.”
