Techno India Group, one of the premium education institution in Eastern India, hosted an engaging debate on the topic “No AI Education = No Jobs in the Future?” The event at Techno India University addressed the critical issue highlighted in the Korn Ferry Report, which suggests that up to 85 million jobs could remain unfilled due to a shortage of skilled professionals. The debate will explore whether this prediction is a foregone conclusion or if alternative approaches can mitigate the impact.

Moderated by Prof. Dr. Sujoy Biswas, Director and CEO of Techno India Group, the discussion brought together a distinguished panel of experts. Mr. Debashis Sen, Founder Director & CEO of New Bengal Consulting Pvt Ltd, Mr. Kausik Halder, Head of Education at WEBEL, and Ms. Amrita Dutta, acclaimed singer, shared their opinion for the motion. On the opposing side, students from Techno India University voiced their perspectives, which created a well-rounded and dynamic debate.

The event also marked the launch of Techno India University’s UGC Dual Degree Program, a pioneering initiative designed to allow students to enhance their skills while pursuing their current studies. This program aims to prepare students for the evolving job market by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet future industry demands.

“This debate is a crucial opportunity to scrutinize and challenge prevailing predictions about the future of work. At Techno India Group, we believe that while the Korn Ferry Report highlights an urgent skills gap affecting 85 million people, it is not an insurmountable challenge. Through initiatives like our UGC Dual Degree Program and partnerships with some of the biggest tech companies in the world, we are committed to fostering innovation and integrating AI education into our curriculum. This ensures our students are equipped with the skills necessary to thrive in an evolving job market. The debate offered valuable insights into how we can proactively address these issues and turn potential crises into opportunities for growth and advancement,” said Mr. Meghdut Roychowdhury, Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer, Techno India Group.

“Education is at the heart of preparing our students for the future, and this debate represents a significant step in understanding how best to align educational programs with industry needs. The discussion surrounding AI education and job readiness is both timely and essential. Our UGC Dual Degree Program is designed to address these challenges by providing students with the skills and knowledge required for future careers. I am looking forward to a thought-provoking dialogue with our esteemed panellists, which will hopefully pave the way for innovative solutions to ensure that our graduates are not only ready for today but are also equipped to meet the demands of tomorrow’s job market. A few years back, I started hosting debate sessions with Dr. Kunal Sarkar’s team Calcutta Debating Circle as our guide and mentor Over time, our students began participating in these debates, including one with Dhaka University students on the topic of Bhabher Bhasha Bangla and another with international students on education on the global front. These experiences have been incredibly enriching and have greatly contributed to our academic community,”said Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group. The debate featured a broad range of perspectives, from medical expertise and industry insights to educational and cultural viewpoints, providing a comprehensive examination of the skills crisis and potential solutions.
