BCC&I Join Hands with JIS Group and JIS University for Annual Education Conclave 2024

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I), in collaboration with JIS Group and JIS University, successfully organised the Annual Education Conclave 2024, focusing on the theme “Synergy – Bridging the Gap between School and Higher Education.” The event brought together distinguished experts, educators, and academicians to discuss and explore ways to align school education with higher education, aiming to create a more cohesive learning environment for students.

The conclave was graced by notable dignitaries, including Gautam Ray, President of BCC&I and President – Corporate at RPSG Group; Simarpreet Singh, Co-Chairperson of the Education Committee, The Bengal Chamber, and Director, JIS Group; Padma Shri Professor (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Ray, Director, Institute of Advanced Studies & Research, JIS University; Prof. VMSR Murthy, Director, IIESTS, Howrah; Aakanksha Kaur, Director, JIS Group of Schools; and Dr. Rima Mukherjee, Senior Consultant and Lead Psychiatrist, Founder Director, Consultant Psychiatrist at Crystal Minds and many others.

The event featured interactive and insightful sessions led by academic leaders and faculty from various educational institutions, offering participants an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue on the evolving landscape of education. The program commenced with a Welcome Address, setting the tone for a series of important discussions.

Key sessions included Context Setting and Inaugural Session with an Expert Speaker; Opening Keynote Address; Building Foundations: Insights into the 5+3+3+4 Curriculum; Higher Education in the 21st Century: Adapting to Change; Beyond the Books: Prioritizing Mental Wellness and a Q& A Session.

The discussions highlighted the need to adapt educational strategies to better prepare students for the challenges of higher education and beyond, emphasising mental wellness as a crucial component of the learning journey. The conclave focused on the importance of synergy between school and higher education to garner holistic development and academic excellence among students.

Speaking on this occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Co-Chairperson of the Education Committee, The Bengal Chamber, and Director, JIS Group, said,
“The Annual Education Conclave 2024 is a pivotal platform where educators and thought leaders come together to address the evolving needs of the education sector. Our focus on bridging the gap between school and higher education is crucial in creating a cohesive learning environment that prepares students for the challenges of the future.”
