WB CM Mamata Banerjee inaugurates Techno India Group World School in Siliguri

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee last evening inaugurated the Techno India Group World School at Siliguri making the beginning of world class education for every girl child for North Bengal and entire North East part of the nation.

While inaugurating the school virtually during the Siliguri Business Meet 2025 in Siliguri she lauded the Techno India Group for their consistent commitment to the development of North Bengal.

“I congratulate Techno India Group and Satyam Roychowdhury in particular for this contribution to education of the girl child in this region. He has done many schools and hospitals. Today the World School joins the bright list. I urge him to run this school efficiently like all other schools,” said Hon’ble Chief Minister while inaugurating the campus.

Talking about the school she said, “This school will cater to the students from nursery to class 12. It also has hostel facilities. Satyam (Roychowdhury) wants to do something for this region. He has opened 15 campuses in North Bengal. I have asked him to start an institution that concentrates on fashion and fashion industry. The youth in this region are very smart and stylish. From Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri to Mirik, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar the young generation is very interested in fashion. If they can home their skills here and study they will be able to get jobs anywhere. I am saying this from experience.”

She lauded the group and Mr Roychowdhury for his path breaking efforts in the region.

Talking about the World School, Techno India Group founder and Managing Director Satyam Roychowdhury said, “Almost 26 years ago in 1999 I began my work in Siliguri. I started Siliguri Institute of Technology, which was the second engineering college in Siliguri after Jalpaiguri Engineering college. I have covered North Bengal district wise. Today we begin a new chapter with this world school.”

He went on to thank Smt Mamata Banerjee for her support and constant encouragement. “Our beloved Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has done another great thing. That is the permission for the first private university in North Bengal called Skill Knowledge and Fashion University. She is a visionary and a thinker. She added fashion to the nomenclature of the University. This will help fashion as a study and industry grow in entire East and North East. This who work in this field can work with us here. We will begin work for this University in a few months’ time at Salbari in Siliguri.”

The world school which is a resident cum class school is one of its kind educational institution for the girls only. This school has attracted attention of those who want to send their children abroad for future studies. The enrolment in the school is happening fast and it has already started attracting eyeballs from both nationally and internationally.
