This 78th Independence Day, Kenstar, one of India’s leading home appliance brands, pledges a nationwide campaign titled ‘No Phone Hour’. The initiative urges citizens across the country to switch off their phones for an hour, from 6 PM to 7 PM on 15th August, and spend some meaningful time with their friends, families and loved ones. Through this campaign, Kenstar invites Indians spread across the world to reclaim their freedom stepping away from digital distractions and reconnect with what truly matters for each one of us.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sunil Jain, CEO Kenstar, said; “This is more than just a campaign, it’s a call to reflect on what freedom truly means in today’s world. As responsible citizens, we urge everyone to embrace the freedom of individuality and reconnect with our roots by celebrating Independence Day in the company of those who matter most. In an age where we may have thousands of followers online, many of us are still yearning for genuine human connection. ‘No Phone Hour’ is a small step toward reclaiming that connection.”

The #NoPhoneHour campaign calls on people across India to take a meaningful pledge, to set aside the virtual world and embrace an hour of real connection. Participants can join the movement by clicking on the campaign link, signing the digital pledge wall available on Kenstar’s website.

Campaign Highlight: Encourages citizens to observe “No Phone Hour” on 15th August 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM, in celebration of Independence Day.
Feedback Invitation: After participating, individuals are encouraged to share their experiences through written stories, video, or audio messages via social media and adding #NoPhoneHour

The visual identity of the campaign features a powerful hand gesture in place of a phone, against the call to action ‘No phone Hour’. Just freedom.” This bold creativity reflects the campaign’s commitment to reimagine independence in today’s digitally connected world.

This initiative aims to redefine the essence of freedom in a time when the virtual world has overshadowed real-life connections and human interaction. Technology, while connecting us to the world, has in many ways distanced us from those closest to us — limiting real conversations and quality time with family and friends. ‘No Phone Hour’ is an invitation to every Indian to step away from their devices and rediscover the joy of genuine, in-person connection.
