The Astor Kolkata Unveils its Durga Puja 2026 Festive Menu

The Astor Kolkata today unveiled its specially curated Durga Puja 2026 Festive Menu at an exclusive press conference, offering the media a preview of the festive culinary experiences that await patrons during the city’s most celebrated festival. From *15th to 21st October, beginning with *Panchami Dinner, the iconic heritage hotel will present an elaborate Bengali festive buffet, celebrating the rich flavours, traditions and nostalgia synonymous with Durga Puja.

“Durga Puja is the heartbeat of Kolkata, bringing together generations through celebration, tradition and exceptional food. Every year, we look forward to creating a dining experience that honours Bengal’s rich culinary heritage while introducing our guests to thoughtfully curated flavours that evoke warmth and nostalgia. Thoughtfully crafted by the hotel’s culinary team, the festive spread celebrates the essence of Bengali cuisine through a delectable selection of traditional beverages, appetisers, main courses and desserts. Guests can begin their meal with refreshing Gondhoraj Doi-er Ghol and *Kaffir Lime Pora Anarash-Ada’r Sorbot, before indulging in appetisers such as **Mutton Pudina Seekh Kebab, **Murgh Kasuri Tikka, **Loitta Macher Pituli, **Bhetki Macher Chop, *Murshidabadi Paneer Ke Tikka and Soya Mochar Cutlet. The experience is further enhanced with an assortment of traditional bhaja, bhorta, achars and house-made accompaniments that bring the authentic flavours of Bengal to the table.

The culinary journey continues with an exquisite selection of signature Bengali delicacies that beautifully capture the essence of the festive season. Guests can savour classics such as *Jamindari Mangsho Bhuna, **Dhakai Kosha Chicken, **Green Prawns Malai Curry, *Shorshe Kancha Lonka Bhetki and *Pabda Macher Tel Bori Jhal, alongside vegetarian favourites including **Panch Mesali Tarkari, **Chhenar Mohima, **Kadaisuti Diye Dhokar Tarkari, *Hing Pora Aloor Dum and *Narkol Diye Cholar Dal. The spread is complemented by **Mishti Pulao, **Steamed Rice, **Radha Ballavi, *Tinkona Porotha and *Butter Naan, before culminating in a decadent dessert selection featuring **Baked Mihidana, **Chhenar Jelabi, **Gondhoraj Sondesh, **Kesri Ras Malai, *Laal Doi and the distinctive Risotto Rice Kheer Nairyel Diye—a fittingly sweet finale to a festive feast steeped in tradition and flavour.
