Indian Chamber of Commerce Appoints Mr. Uddhav Kirtikar as Chief Representative for New Zealand

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) proudly announced the appointment of Mr. Uddhav Kirtikar as its Chief Representative for New Zealand. As Chief Representative, Mr. Kirtikar will play a pivotal role in strengthening the bilateral trade relations between India and New Zealand, as well as fostering greater cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.

Mr. Kirtikar brings with him a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors. He launched his consulting business Compliance Plus in 2013, which followed his departure from the Financial Market Authority’s (FMA) Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) establishment team. At FMA, he played a key role in establishing the AML/CFT regime in New Zealand and was the lead writer for several AML/CFT Act guidance papers published by supervisors. He also designed the templates and processes that FMA used when it commenced its AML/CFT supervisory work.

Mr. Kirtikar is also experienced in policy analysis and commercial investigations. His track record includes leading successful Fair Trading Act enforcement actions against several large corporations in New Zealand. He has also conducted extensive studies in transnational organised crime, counter-terrorism, and intelligence while completing a Master of Strategic Studies through Victoria University.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Uddhav Kirtikar to the Indian Chamber of Commerce as our Chief Representative for New Zealand,” said Mr. Ameya Prabhu, President of the ICC. “His extensive experience in policy analysis, commercial investigations, and AML/CFT regulation will be invaluable as we seek to enhance the trade relations between India and New Zealand and promote greater economic cooperation between the two countries. We look forward to working closely with Mr. Kirtikar to further strengthen the ties between our nations.”

Mr. Kirtikar expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent the ICC in New Zealand and stated that he is eager to contribute to the advancement of trade and investment between India and New Zealand. He also emphasised his commitment to promoting ethical business practices in both countries.

This appointment comes at a crucial time as both India and New Zealand seek to strengthen economic collaboration. India is among New Zealand’s top 15 trading partners, with two-way trade in goods and services around $1 billion , and both countries aim to find new opportunities for mutual growth.. The ICC is confident that Mr. Kirtikar’s leadership will further elevate the relationship between the two nations and create a platform for sustained economic success.
