Filmfare, in association with JOY Personal Care as the title partner, successfully hosted the 7th edition of Filmfare Awards Bangla, on March 29th at ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata. This grand celebration showcased the brightest of Bengali Cinema, spotlighting outstanding narratives, performances, and talents within the industry. The evening was hosted by Saurav Das, Sauraseni Maitra, and Parambrata Chatterjee, who entertained the audience with their wit and charm.
The atmosphere was electric as the brightest stars of Bengali cinema graced the stage with electrifying dance performances, featuring the likes of Nusrat Faria, Koel Mallick, Bonny Sengupta & Koushani Mukherjee, Ankush Hazra & Oindrila Sen, and Srabanti Chatterjee. The audience was treated to delightful comedic acts by Rudranil Ghosh and Ambarish Bhattacharya, adding laughter and excitement to the festivities.
Continuing the tradition of honouring excellence, the seventh edition of the show successfully hosted stalwarts, who have made their mark both in front and behind the camera. This year, Atanu Ghosh who made waves in the audience with their stellar story and direction for Shesh Pata was announced as winners under the Best Film category, Prosenjit Chatterjee with his awe-inspiring acting skills and extraordinary performance in Shesh Pata clinched the award of Best Actor (Male), while Churni Ganguly received the award for Best Actor (Female) for delivering a thrilling and mesmerising portrayal in Ardhangini. The evening saw a powerhouse performer, a prolific filmmaker, and an articulate writer, Prabhat Roy, who was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
