Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research (GNIDSR), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, organised the International Conference “SPEAK 2024” (Scientific Platform for Exchange of Advanced Knowledge) in association with the Journal of Clinical Dentistry and Research (JCDR). The event was organised at the GNIDSR auditorium on June 25, 2024.
The conference organised under the patronage of the JIS Group saw distinguished gathering of doctors, bureaucrats, technocrats, and health officials. This was the first time a private dental institution in West Bengal organised an international conference. To be held from June 24 to June 26, the conference featured a series of sessions aimed at promoting the exchange of advanced knowledge in the field of dentistry. Renowned national and international speakers led discussions on dentofacial aesthetics, cutting-edge dental practices, and the latest research findings. Attendees participated in panel discussions, faculty presentations, and interactive workshops, all designed to promote continuous dental education and professional development.
The theme for this conference, dentofacial aesthetics, is a rapidly advancing subject driven by increasing awareness and demand for treatment. Prof. Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharyya, Principal of GNIDSR, enthusiastically advocated this theme, emphasising its theoretical and clinical importance in dental sciences. The conference aimed to facilitate quality research output, leading to better dissemination of knowledge, clinical application, and increased publications in indexed journals. SPEAK 2024 provided an opportunity for dental undergraduates, interns, postgraduates, academicians, and practitioners to come together and share their experiences, ideas, and opinions on a wide variety of subjects in dental sciences and related fields.
