Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research (GNIDSR) Organises International Dental Conference “SPEAK 2024

Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research (GNIDSR), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, organised the International Conference “SPEAK 2024” (Scientific Platform for Exchange of Advanced Knowledge) in association with the Journal of Clinical Dentistry and Research (JCDR). The event was organised at the GNIDSR auditorium on June 25, 2024.
The conference organised under the patronage of the JIS Group saw distinguished gathering of doctors, bureaucrats, technocrats, and health officials. Among the notable dignitaries present were Prof. Dr. Dibyendu Mujumdar, Honourable President, Dental Council of India as the chief guest ; Shri Narayan Swaroop Nigam, Principal Secretary, Swasthya Bhawan; Prof. Dr. Anirrudha Neogi , Special Secretary & Officer on Special Duty, Swasthya Bhawan; Prof. Dr. Siddhartha Niyogi , Director of Health Services, Swasthya Bhawan ; Prof. Dr. Kaustav Nayek, Director of Medical Education, Swasthya Bhawan ; Shri Debal Kumar Ghosh, Senior Special Secretary, Swasthya Bhawan ; Prof. Dr. Debasis Basu, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, WBUHS Dr. Sourav Banerjee, Deputy Secretary, Dental, and Dr. Shubhabrata Paul, Assistant Director of Health Services, ; Sardar Taranjit Singh, MD, JIS Group ; Sardar Haranjit Singh ,Joint Managing Director, JIS; Sardar Amrik Singh, Deputy Managing Director, JIS.

This was the first time a private dental institution in West Bengal organised an international conference. To be held from June 24 to June 26, the conference featured a series of sessions aimed at promoting the exchange of advanced knowledge in the field of dentistry. Renowned national and international speakers led discussions on dentofacial aesthetics, cutting-edge dental practices, and the latest research findings. Attendees participated in panel discussions, faculty presentations, and interactive workshops, all designed to promote continuous dental education and professional development.

The theme for this conference, dentofacial aesthetics, is a rapidly advancing subject driven by increasing awareness and demand for treatment. Prof. Dr. Jayanta Bhattacharyya, Principal of GNIDSR, enthusiastically advocated this theme, emphasising its theoretical and clinical importance in dental sciences. The conference aimed to facilitate quality research output, leading to better dissemination of knowledge, clinical application, and increased publications in indexed journals. SPEAK 2024 provided an opportunity for dental undergraduates, interns, postgraduates, academicians, and practitioners to come together and share their experiences, ideas, and opinions on a wide variety of subjects in dental sciences and related fields.

Speaking at the event, Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director of JIS Group, stated, “The organising of SPEAK 2024 is a pivotal moment in our pursuit of global collaboration in healthcare. This conference highlights our dedication to excellence and innovation, uniting the brightest minds to exchange knowledge and shape the future of medical and dental sciences.”
