The second day of Visual Artist, Ms Natasha Datta Roy’s 3 – day solo exhibition, Echoes of Her Essence – A Tribute To The Indomitable Spirit Of Women In Art hosted in collaboration with Different Strokes & Art Hive, saw a special tribute to distinguished women artists

To mark the birth anniversaries of two iconic Indian artists, Amrita Sher-Gil and Shanu Lahiri, the event honoured six eminent women artists from Kolkata for their exceptional contributions in the field of art. Ms Arunima Choudhury, Ms Binita Bandyopadhyay, Ms Alakananda Sengupta, Ms Sarbani Ganguly, Ms Papri Chowdhury, and Ms Tamali Dasgupta were felicitated for their outstanding achievements, making this event a poignant reflection of the enduring legacy of women in the Indian art world.
“It is a great honour to pay tribute to the remarkable women who have not only contributed immensely to the art world but have also paved the way for future generations of artists. This exhibition and the tribute ceremony aim to honour their resilience and their undying passion for art. It is a celebration of feminine strength, creativity and an unwavering spirit” said, Visual Artist, Ms Natasha Datta Roy.
The ongoing exhibition, which runs until 26th January, 2025 at Art Hive Gallery, celebrates the dynamic and multifaceted essence of feminine energy through 26 evocative artworks divided into three distinct series. Curated to explore the duality and resilience of feminine energy, Echoes of Her Essence is divided into the following series:
• Monpakhi: Depicting the journey of love through symbolic bird imagery.
• Tapestry of Life & Nature: Highlighting the profound connection between nature and the spirit of womanhood.
• Nitya Shakti: Celebrating the nurturing yet powerful aspects of feminine energy.
A standout feature of the exhibition is the painting Sandhi Kaal, which beautifully reflects the transitions and evolving strength of femininity, perfectly aligning with the exhibition’s theme.

Echoes Of Her Essence, curated by Mr Jewel Paul, eminent curator from Bangladesh, reflects on the beauty of nature’s design: the woman as a complement to her male counterpart, creating harmony rather than competition. This exhibition invites us to rediscover the power of femininity as a complementary energy, one that uplifts and completes, rather than competes. Echoes Of Her Essence is not just a showcase of art; it is a call to embrace balance, respect nature’s wisdom, and celebrate the feminine spirit for its invaluable role in creating a harmonious world.
