Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2025 held on March 18, 2025, at JW Marriott, Kolkata,brought together finest talents, outstanding performances and artistic brilliance under one roof to celebrate the excellence in Bengali cinema.
Bohurupi won the award for Best Film, while Chaalchitra Ekhon and Manikbabur Megh were awarded in Best Film (Critics’) category. For Best Actor (Critics’), Anjan Dutt and Chandan Sen shared the award for their respective roles in Chaalchitra Ekhon and Manikbabur Megh. Mamata Shankar took the award for Best Actress (Critics’)for her performance in Bijoyar Pore. Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee won the Best Director award for Bohurupi. Shiboprosad Mukherjee was honoured with the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) award for Bohurupi and Subhashree Ganguly won the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female) award for Babli. Bohurupi won 7 awards, Manikbabur Megh got 6, Padatik fetched 5, Chaalchitra Ekhon bagged 4 across categories at Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2025.
Subhankar Mohanta was awarded as Best Debut Male for Mon Potongo while Baishakhi Roy and Idhika shared the Best Debut Female honour for their roles in Mon Potongo and Khadaan respectively. In Best Actor In Supporting Actor Role (Female), Monami Ghosh and Tanika Basu were awarded for their roles in Padatik and Chaalchitro The Frame Fatale respectively. Sawon Chakraborty and Silajit Majumder were recognized for their talent in Chaalchitra Ekhon and Ajogyo respectively in the Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male) category.
Biswajit Chatterjee was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his exceptional contribution to Bengali cinema. One of the memorable highlights of the night was when Subhashree Ganguly concluded her electrifying medley performance by shaking a leg with all her contemporaries – Mimi Chakraborty, Monami Ghosh, Rituparna Sengupta, Koushani Mukherjee and Jaya Ahsan on her popular track, ‘Mala Re’ from Romeo.
Puja Banerjeeimpressed everyone with her performance on the superhit dance tracks, ‘Chadd Gaya Pyaar Ka Bukhaar’ and ‘Police Chorer Preme Poreche’. Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Koushani Mukherjeeengaged the audience together with an amazing performancefrom their latest film, Killbill Society.Adding to the evening’s allure,Singini Chowdhury and Cizzy captivated the crowd with a mesmerizing performance on their latest track, Ula La.
