BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, unveiled the latest edition of its much-awaited ‘BIG Green Durga’ initiative at a grand press conference held in Pride Plaza, Kolkata. The event witnessed the presence of popular actress Ishaa Saha, who revealed the campaign, lending her support to this unique blend of devotion and sustainability.

This year’s celebration centers around a 3D Holographic idol of Maa Durga, an eco-friendly first-of-its-kind innovation in the city. With no clay, no carbon and no immersion, this digital representation preserves the magnificence of Durga Puja while serving as a powerful symbol of a sustainable, greener future with zero environmental impact.

The campaign further extends into the community with a strong focus on sustainability. BIG FM’s RJs will visit over 50 RWAs, colleges and paras to engage with devotees, promote eco-friendly practices, and honor those embracing green initiatives. A five-day celebration at a high footfall mall will entertain visitors with live interactions, emcee activities and RJ-led engagements, ensuring the festive spirit is celebrated responsibly. Adding to the initiative is the BIG Shakti Awards, an effort to recognize ten women entrepreneurs operating in the field of sustainability, each representing one of Maa Durga’s astras, whose stories of resilience and responsibility will inspire the larger community.

One of the campaign’s key attractions is the BIG Studio @Mandap, a solar-powered setup where Kolkata’s beloved RJs will go live, host celebrities and engage with devotees right from the pandal, creating an immersive festive experience. Extending its reach further, BIG FM will spread the message of sustainability across on-air and digital platforms through inspiring stories, expert insights on eco-friendly living, and live updates from pandals across Kolkata.

Speaking on the initiative, Sunil Kumaran, CEO, BIG FM, said, “Durga Puja is a festival of devotion as much as it is of responsibility. Through BIG Green Durga, we aim to honor Maa Durga in the most sustainable way, ensuring zero environmental impact while fostering complete community participation. It is our commitment to shaping a greener future.”

With BIG Green Durga, BIG FM has once again proven that festive celebrations can be innovative and eco-conscious, turning devotion into a collective movement of positive change.
