Globalart, the internationally acclaimed creative art programme for children, proudly announced the launch of its very first centre in Kolkata, marking its entry into Eastern India. The launch was graced by eminent personalities including Subrata Gangopadhyay, Indian Contemporary Artist, Sudeshna Roy, renowned filmmaker; Mr. Dinesh Victor, Founder & Managing Director of SIP Academy, Ms. Namrata Mukherjee, Globalart India Business Head; Mr. Yogesh Dassani, State Head – West Bengal, along with other distinguished guests. Located in the heart of the city at Lake Market, this milestone further strengthens Globalart’s presence as India’s largest and most credible chain of art centres.

Present today in 23 countries, Globalart has established a strong global footprint and, in India, operates a network of 150 centres across seven states. Over the past 20 years, more than 1,00,000 children have been trained under the programme. A striking highlight of Globalart in India is that out of 150 centres, 145 are run by women entrepreneurs, reflecting the brand’s commitment to empowering women through opportunities in education and creativity. Many of Globalart’s alumni have gone on to pursue careers in fields such as design, animation, fashion, visual arts and more, showcasing the transformative impact of the programme.

With a strong vision for the Eastern Indian market, Globalart has outlined an ambitious expansion plan of opening 30 new centres over the next three years. This growth strategy aims to build a deeper footprint across cities and towns in the region, while also creating opportunities for entrepreneurship and enabling children to access a world-class creative programme.

Globalart is a part of SIP Academy India, which also runs the country’s leading Abacus programme, SIP Abacus. Over the last 22 years, SIP Academy has been at the forefront of developing key life skills and shaping the future of over a million children across India.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Dinesh Victor, Founder & Managing Director of SIP Academy, said,“Creative thinking is no longer an optional skill—it’s essential. By using art as a medium, we not only nurture creativity but also instil essential life skills in children, preparing them for a brighter tomorrow. The future needs innovative minds not just for art, but for diverse, exciting career opportunities.”

Kolkata, with its timeless legacy of literature, art, and culture, resonates with Globalart’s philosophy. From the works of Rabindranath Tagore to its celebrated tradition of visual and performing arts, the city has always embraced creativity as its identity. The new Globalart centre aims to continue this tradition by shaping young minds through structured creative learning.

Ms. Namrata Mukherjee, Globalart India Business Head, highlighted another aspect of the programme, “Globalart gives a perfect opportunity for women with an interest in art and looking to start a business. Of the 150 Centres, 145 are led by women entrepreneurs. Hence, to begin with – we are looking for dynamic women in Kolkata to partner with us to spread this wonderful programme among the children of this city.”
Mr. Yogesh Dassani, State Head, West Bengal, enthusiastically said,“Globalart’s vision to nurture creativity in children through art deeply resonated with me and my wife, who is starting off the first centre in Lake Market. I am excited to bring this world-class programme to Kolkata and continue my entrepreneurial journey by making the future of our children more fun and creative.”
With this launch, Globalart reaffirms its mission to provide children across Kolkata with a platform to explore their imagination and develop their creative thinking, self-expression and confidence—skills that will equip them to navigate through a rapidly changing world.
