JSW Steel Coated Products has unveiled an exclusive branded tram in Kolkata ahead of Durga Puja to celebrate the grandeur of the festival inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The campaign aims to leverage the heritage and symbolic strength of Kolkata’s iconic trams, connecting JSW’s premium coated steel products with the city’s rich cultural and traditional landscape.

Kolkata trams, stands among the world’s only operational heritage tramways, which symbolize endurance and resilience, qualities that resonate with JSW Steel Coated Products. By associating with this cherished cultural landmark during Durga Puja, JSW Steel pays tribute to both tradition and progress.
The branded tram features vibrant artwork that not only showcases Durga Puja’s festive spirit but also visually narrates the diverse applications and usages of JSW Coated Steel Products. The creative depictions illustrate how products like JSW Colouron+, JSW Pragati+, and JSW Everglow with High Gloss and Cool Roof coatings are integrated into modern homes, roofing, structures, and other everyday applications—combining both aesthetic beauty and long-lasting durability.
Just as Kolkata’s trams withstand changing times and climates, JSW’s premium coated sheets are designed to endure heavy rains, coastal humidity, and high heat, while retaining colour brilliance and strength. The tram’s finishes reflect advanced paint technology that ensures roofs and structures remain vibrant, fade-resistant, and safeguarded for decades.

The campaign also underscores JSW Steel’s commitment to sustainability. In line with the eco-friendly character of trams as a greener mode of mass transport, JSW’s GreenPro certified plants uphold global standards in energy efficiency, resource conservation, and eco-responsible production. This harmony of heritage, culture, and green innovation positions JSW as an industry leader embracing sustainability not just in manufacturing but also in its marketing initiatives.
While Kolkata’s tram network faces reduced routes and uncertain continuity, this initiative is also envisioned as a tribute to conserving heritage, raising awareness about the historical and cultural significance of trams while connecting them to modern industrial excellence.
