In a landmark development for India’s travel and tourism sector, the Indo International Tourism Chamber of Commerce (IITCC), India’s first and only dedicated tourism chamber of commerce, was formally launched in Kolkata. The event marked a historic moment in building a structured, unified and globally connected ecosystem for tourism professionals across the country. The website of IITCC is: www.iitcc.org.in.

Founded with the mission to bring structure, representation, collaboration and international standards to India’s tourism industry, IITCC aims to create new opportunities and sustainable growth for stakeholders across the tourism value chain, including travel companies, hoteliers, destination managers, event planners, tour operators and allied sectors.

Speaking at the launch, Abbhishek Chaudhuri, Founder & President – IITCC, said, “India is one of the world’s most powerful tourism destinations, yet we have long lacked a unified representative body dedicated solely to the interests of this sector. Abbhishek Chaudhuri further added, “Tourism is not just an economic driver; it is a catalyst for infrastructure, employment, culture preservation and regional development. Through IITCC, we aim to build an ecosystem that enables sustainable tourism growth, strengthens international partnerships, and uplifts local communities across India.”

IITCC aims to: Strengthen India as a global tourism powerhouse; Represent the interests of the industry at national and international levels; Build bridges between businesses, governments, and global tourism boards; Create skill development and certification programs; Support MSMEs, startups, and future tourism entrepreneurs; Promote sustainable and responsible tourism; Drive trade opportunities and tourism investments.

The primary purpose of IITCC is to create a powerful, structured and credible platform for India’s tourism industry by enabling cross-sector collaboration, global partnerships and sustainable development.

The vision of IITCC includes: To establish the largest tourism chamber in Asia; To create India’s most credible tourism certification ecosystem; To connect Indian tourism stakeholders with 50+ global tourism boards; To open IITCC State Chapters, ASEAN Chapters and Middle East Chapters; To serve as the official representative body for tourism-related policies and reforms.

With its headquarters in India and an international outlook, the chamber will work towards enhancing professional standards, driving responsible tourism practices, hosting industry forums, facilitating global networking, and providing certification programmes to uplift the sector’s credibility.

The launch event in Kolkata brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, hospitality professionals, policymakers and tourism stakeholders, signalling strong support for the chamber’s vision. IITCC is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping tourism strategies, influencing reforms, and offering a collective voice for the industry both nationally and globally.

IITCC also announced to collaborate, cooperate and work together with all associations, event organisers, tourism boards, travel agents and tour operators for the growth of tourism in India and outbound, focusing: IITCC will organize UTC Connects across INDIAN cities – B2B Buyer-Seller Meets; IITCC Freshers & Students Ready2Work professional Courses; UTC Grand Global Connect – The Greatest of EASTERN INDIA; Multiple FAM Departures for Tourism Professionals for Better Knowledge; IITCC B2B Global Journal – “TRAVELLATION” – Global Distribution.
