mjunction services limited, India’s largest B2B e-commerce company has enhanced rural livelihood in Bengal through conscious efforts. Drives like planting trees, impacting community planters and conducting agricultural entrepreneurship programmes are to name just a few in their sustainability basket.
mjunction has been planting trees since 2019 and in a span of 5 years it has created a forest in Jhargram. Waste land stretched across 13 acres was neither cultivable nor put to use till mjunction intervened and planted above 4500 trees to make a green cover.
Promoting sustainable livelihood for the people, mjunction also conducted Orchard Programmes to upskill the grower community in producing mangoes and cashews. As part of such training programmes, the growers have been empowered with the knowledge of intermittent farming, multi-cropping etc. About 350 + growers have received the benefits from community plantation training programmes.
mjunction has also trained more than 100 people under its Agricultural Entrepreneurship Programme where knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices were imparted to the participants. All these programmes put together have helped enhance the overall livelihood of the people and impacted them to live a better life.
This World Environment Day, once again mjunction demonstrated its commitment to sustainability through a plantation drive in collaboration with Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Ashram. Led by the CFO and Managing Trustee Mr. Aninda Chatterjee, along with other trustees and senior leaders from mjunction, 15 employees participated in planting 100 saplings of fruit trees. This initiative clearly reflects dedication of the brand towards environment conservation and community development.
