JIS University Hosts 5th Convocation Ceremony 956 Graduates Honoured with Degrees & Medals

JIS University hosted its 5th convocation ceremony at its university campus, celebrating the academic achievements of its students. The convocation was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Prof. Partha Pratim Majumder, National Science Chair, Science & Engineering Board, Government of India; Dr. Ramji Singh, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Kalyani; Prof. Kaustuv Sanyal, Director, Bose Institute, Kolkata; Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group and Prof. Bhabes Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, JIS University. Alongside them, university officials, directors, deans, and faculty members joined the ceremony. Prof. Bhabes Bhattacharya presented the convocation report, marking a momentous occasion for students and faculty alike.

The ceremony commenced with a grand academic procession, followed by the official inauguration announcement. A total of 956 students received their degrees and diplomas, including 648 undergraduate degrees, 221 postgraduate degrees, 75 diplomas, and 12 Ph.D. degrees. In recognition of academic excellence, 43 students were awarded gold medals, 32 received silver medals, and 25 received bronze medals. Among the top honorees, Dr. Shayeri Biswas, Ph.D. in Science from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences (CIS), was awarded the PhD-Gold Medal (Best Research Credentials) for her outstanding research achievements. Ms. Prajana Banerjee, BSc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry from the Department of Bioscience, received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal (Undergraduate), while Ms. Puspita Sikder, M.Pharm. in Quality Assurance from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, was honoured with the Chancellor’s Gold Medal (Postgraduate). Additionally, the prestigious University Blue award was presented to Ms. Pratyasa Bandyopadhyay, MSc. in Physics from the Department of Physics, in the female category, and Mr. Pranav Goenka, Master of Business Administration from the Department of Management Studies, in the male category. These degrees and accolades were conferred across various faculties of JIS University, including the Faculty of Engineering & Technology; Faculty of Management Studies; Faculty of Pharmacy; Faculty of Science; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Juridical Sciences; Faculty of Hospitality & Hotel Administration; JIS Institute for Advanced Studies & Research (JISIASR), and Faculty of Agriculture.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group, said, “At JIS University, we are committed to raise an environment that nurtures knowledge, innovation, and excellence. This convocation marks a significant milestone for our students, who are now equipped to take on the challenges of the world. We take immense pride in their achievements and look forward to their future contributions to society.”
