The announcement was made at a press conference in Kolkata, organised as part of the TUFCON XT initiative, which brought together members of the media and key stakeholders to mark the company’s 9-year journey and outline its vision for the future.

The senior leadership outlined TUFCON’s next phase of growth, with a focus on the proposed ₹5,500-crore investment in Bihar, the upcoming Greenfield project in Nagpur, expansion of manufacturing capacity and the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence across key Indian markets. The Chakai project in Bihar has been formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar, involving a proposed investment of approximately ₹5,500 crore. Along with the planned Greenfield project in Nagpur, the developments are expected to significantly enhance TUFCON’s manufacturing capacity and operational capabilities. The projects are expected to commence implementation shortly and will form a key part of the company’s long-term strategy to establish a stronger, more integrated and future-ready steel manufacturing ecosystem.
