Azadgarh Sevak Sangha took a bold step towards ensuring women’s safety by successfully hosting the “Shahoshi Nari Prottek Bari,” a powerful self-defense camp for women empowerment. In a time when the safety and security of women have become a pressing issue , this initiative sought to arm women with essential self-defense techniques, promoting both strength and confidence. The Dokra-inspired artistry of the Durga Puja Pandal was unveiled during the event. The event, held at the organisation’s premises in Tollygunge, Kolkata, was honoured by the presence of Renowned Sensei Premjit Sen, President at Karate-Do Association of Bengal & MD, All India Seishinkai Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation, Manas Dutta, Secretary, Azadgarh Sevak Sangha; Joy Ghosh, Coordinator, Azadgarh Sevak Sangha. The camp was also a pivotal part of the Platinum Jubilee celebration, marking a historic milestone for the organisation.
With a large turnout of women from the community, Sensei Premjit Sen’s teachings were nothing short of transformative. He demonstrated practical and life-saving self-defense techniques, ensuring that every participant walked away with the tools to protect herself in any situation. The spirit of Durga Puja adorned the event, symbolising the strength of women, as the artistry of the Dokra-inspired Durga Puja Pandal was unveiled. This event was not just about celebration; it was a call to action, equipping women with the ability to defend their dignity and lives amidst rising concerns for their safety.
