This festive season, the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) is proud to announce the return of its cherished CSR initiative, Santa’s Cause. Launched by the NRAI Kolkata Chapter in 2019, this heartfelt endeavour has grown into a nationwide movement, embraced by NRAI Chapters across India.

Santa’s Cause, NRAI’s heartfelt initiative, exemplifies the spirit of giving by delivering gifts and basic needs to underprivileged children, elderly residents, and less fortunate communities. Every year, NRAI members and our generous guests wear Santa hats to spread warmth, hope, and joy. NRAI members have also joined for contribution to make the Christmas season more inclusive by fostering community spirit through acts of kindness and thoughtful gestures.

This year’s Santa Cause initiative benefited 2700 children from St. Xavier’s School (Paikhali Primary School), Ramrick Institute, St. James School, Dhapa Bustee Welfare, St Augustine School, Aashiyana Happy Home, Bustee welfare Primary & Secondary School, Universal Smile, and Tata Medical Centre. The program sustained by the generous donations of NRAI Kolkata members, brought smiles to these children and made the holiday season truly magical.

Speaking on the Santa’s Cause initiative, Sagar Daryani, NRAI President said “Santa’s Cause is a reflection of the restaurant industry’s unwavering commitment to giving back to the community. We hope that by working together to bring joy, warmth, and support to those in need, we can inspire a collective spirit of compassion and generosity during the festive season. Every act of kindness has the potential to have a long-term impact, and I am proud of how NRAI members have embraced this initiative with open hearts year after year.”

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Pratap Daryanani, NRAI Kolkata Chapter CSR Committee Head, said, “Santa’s Cause is not just about distributing gifts; it’s about bringing happiness to children who deserve it the most. Through the unwavering generosity of our NRAI Kolkata members, we are able to provide a magical holiday experience for these deserving children. It’s an honour to be a part of such a heart-warming initiative.”

“Santa’s Cause” is planned and executed by a dedicated team of NRAI members with secretariat who oversee the collection of donations, procurement of gifts, and the scheduling of distribution events. The program extends beyond gift distribution; it creates memorable experiences for the children. Activities such as singing, dancing, and poetry recitation bring joy to both the kids and the volunteers. The moments are captured in photographs, which are shared on NRAI Kolkata’s social media platforms, along with mentions of the NGOs involved, to celebrate the spirit of giving and community.

Santa’s Cause is a heartfelt initiative aimed at giving back to society by bringing joy to people’s faces and making the Christmas season truly memorable for everyone. Organized by the CSR Committees of all NRAI Chapters, this initiative thrives on the enthusiastic participation and generous support of NRAI members and restaurant patrons. The initiative, runs entirely on goodwill, embodies the true spirit of the season by spreading the joy of giving and making a significant difference.
