One of Bengal’s most loved adventure franchises took centre stage at Nazrul Tirtha as the grand trailer launch of Saptadingar Guptodhon unfolded amidst celebration, nostalgia, and cinematic spectacle on Friday afternoon.
Over the years, the Guptodhon franchise has carved a special place in the hearts of audiences by blending mystery, humour, emotion, and adventure into a uniquely Bengali cinematic experience. What began as an adventure story soon evolved into one of Bengali cinema’s most celebrated franchises, with audiences embracing the journey of Sona Da, Abir, and Jhinuk (played by Abir Chatterjee – Arjun Chakrabarty – Ishaa Saha) across generations. With Saptadingar Guptodhon, the franchise now returns with its biggest and most ambitious chapter yet.
Nazrul Tirtha transformed into a vibrant hub of celebration as the worlds of Saptadingar Guptodhon and Vijaynagar’er Hirey came together for a landmark afternoon dedicated to Bengali franchise cinema.
The official trailer unveiling offered audiences a thrilling glimpse into the newest chapter of the Guptodhon universe — blending mystery, humour, suspense, and spectacle against the visually stunning backdrop of the Sundarbans.
Along with unveiling the next chapter of the immensely loved Guptodhon franchise, the afternoon also celebrated the remarkable milestone of Kakababu completing 100 glorious days at the box office — making it a symbolic coming together of two beloved adventure universes cherished by Bengali audiences across generations.
The event witnessed the presence of Abir Chatterjee, Arjun Chakrabarty, Ishaa Saha, director Dhrubo Banerjee, alongside special appearances by Kaushik Ganguly and Rajatava Dutta.
The afternoon reached an emotional high point with the surprise entry of Prosenjit Chatterjee, fondly adored as Bumba Da, who joined the celebration alongside members of the Vijaynagar’er Hirey team.
Speaking about the growing success of Bengali adventure films, Prosenjit Chatterjee said, “It is incredibly heartening to witness Bengali audiences embracing adventure stories and franchise cinema with so much love. Films like Guptodhon and Kakababu have created their own worlds and memories for audiences. Seeing these two universes celebrated together at Nazrul Tirtha makes this afternoon truly special.”
Reflecting on the journey of Sona Da and the franchise, Abir Chatterjee shared,
“The love have given Sona Da and the Guptodhon franchise over the years has been overwhelming. Saptadingar Guptodhon pushes the scale, emotion, and adventure much further, while still retaining the heart and nostalgia people associate with these characters.”
Speaking about returning audiences
to the franchise, Arjun Chakrabarty and Ishaa Saha added,
“Every chapter of the Guptodhon franchise feels like returning home, but this film feels bigger and more immersive than ever before. Shooting amidst the Sundarbans brought an entirely different energy and realism to the storytelling. Audiences will experience stronger emotions, deeper relationships, and a thrilling new adventure.”
Director Dhrubo Banerjee spoke about expanding the cinematic world of the franchise and said,

Saptadingar Guptodhon is slated to release in theatres on 15th May 2026 and will also witness a nationwide release across India on the same day.
